The owner-proprietor was raised up in Northwest Arkansas in the 50's and 60's.  Being the son of a residential developer and home builder; many aspects of this business became practical knowledge at a very early age. Although early education took him in a direction of the engineering trades; Architectural Design was ultimately chosen.

A few years after opening The Plan Shop, the business was moved to Dallas Texas. First providing working documents for Apartment and Condominium Properties, the business began designing additions to existing homes in the exclusive University Park and Highland Park districts. Upgrades were also performed in the Swiss Avenue Historical Residential district. This experience became the foundation for designing classic custom homes that meet the needs of contemporary lifestyles of today.

Back home in Northwest Arkansas since 1985, the application of this experience has allowed farther honing of those skills. "Hplans.com" was chosen as a website domain since most homes are built on Ozark "Hilly" terrain in this region. An early Site Analysis is a very important part of the "pre-design" process insuring that the home "fits" its surroundings. "Look out" appeal often proves to be of as much importance as "Drive By" appeal (especially in this beautiful Ozark Region).

Present construction demand now includes (more than ever) a unique "eye" for designing additions-renovations to existing homes. We take a lot of pride in making these "additions" look as though nothing has been added.
